About Shannon

Shannon Formby is a passionate author, inspirational speaker, and leader. His book, “Captivated” has touched the hearts of thousands around the world. Life can be lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with his wife Melanie and their five children. With over 25 years of ministry experience in the Worship Arts, Shannon has a heart for music, ministry, and sharing God’s Word. Since January 3, 2014 Shannon has poured his heart into developing God’s vision, Captivated Ministries. Created through the vision given to Shannon through his book Captivated, God ignited a passion within Shannon to share Jesus through his writing and speaking.

For over 15 years Shannon and his wife Melanie have worked and served in Senior Care ministry where they have provided physical, spiritual, and emotional care and support to the elderly and their families. They managed a 32 bed Assisted Living Living and Alzheimer’s and Dementia Community. Through this Shannon and Melanie have worked with and consulted many businesses both within healthcare and other areas of business to grow and expand on the vision of their companies. Shannon can help to expand your vision and mission through a sound biblical business approach.

A graduate of the University of Alabama, Shannon has a degree in Communications and Public Relations. He has a passion for business and management as well. He has spent most of his life teaching and speaking about the promises of God that have affected his life so greatly. He has worked with Delores Winder, founder of The Fellowship Foundation in Shreveport, LA., for over 15 years. Aside from Captivated Ministries, he currently serves in ministry with The Tuscaloosa Fellowship Foundation, which is a partner of Delores’ ministry.

His passion and knowledge for business, as well as his hunger for Christ, combine to make Shannon very effective at presenting and promoting Christ within almost any setting.
